As anyone who knows me can attest, no one can be happier with the new fashion trend than me. Throughout my life, I've always looked for the Ukrainian touch in clothing (look for me at any of the Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festivals - I'm the one the best vinok) and up until now its been a challenge to incorporate it into my every day clothing. Now, however, with the availability of embroidery in stores like Marshalls and Winners, it no longer seems out of place to wear a Ukrainian blouse to work.
At first, the trend was labelled as "boho chic" or "urban peasant" but finally, Vogue, the "bible" of the fashion savvy has called it for what it is. In their recent article: " The rise of the Ukrainian national costume in fashion", they celebrate the beauty of the fashion trend and link it back to where it all began.. Ukraine..
What a beautiful way to #StayUkrainianMyFriends
